In their first encounter since the gold medal match at the Paris Olympics, the U.S. Women's National Team triumphed over Brazil with a 2-0 victory. Trinity Rodman scored early, and team captain Lindsey Heaps secured the win with a penalty kick in the second half. This significant event, marking the first women's professional sporting event at SoFi Stadium, drew a crowd of 32,303 fans.

Making her first appearance for the USWNT since the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rodman maintained her strong form by scoring a goal in the sixth minute, assisted precisely by fellow forward Alyssa Thompson. This goal represents the 11th in Trinity Rodman's career as a significant player for the national team.

Midfielder Lily Yohannes joined the game in the 61st minute and quickly won a penalty after taking over for Ally Sentnor. Veteran and USWNT captain Lindsey Heaps then fired her shot into the left corner of the goal, outmaneuvering Brazilian keeper Lorena. In under 30 minutes on the field, Yohannes performed four or five maneuvers that few, if any, other USWNT players could match.

At just 17 years old, she quickly secured a penalty for the USWNT with a smart feint and a swift pass that Ludmila was too late to intercept. She also nearly assisted with an impressive through ball to Thompson, whose shot was saved. Her skill with the ball is truly exceptional.
